As I alluded to a week or more ago, concerned locals have called a meeting to be held with Cougar. I have been informed this morning that the meeting will be held this Thursday night at 7pm. I will be attending & will report back.

I can understand the farmers concerns as a couple of homes are extremely close to the action. In fact if you look at the announcement dated 25th Feb - New Dehli Presentation & in particular slide 18. Zoom in on the top left hand portion of the slide & it will highlight the close proximity of a red roofed farm shed. Hidden in the big trees near the shed is a farm house. I must admit if Cougar had built their gas plant that close to my home I would be kicking up a stink as well.

Len must be very sure of his research & in his technology to construct the gas plant so close to homes. He must also be extremely confident that subsidence & water contamination will not be a problem in the future.

By the way, I noticed that a sign had been erected over the weekend at the intersection of Bellbird Road & Edenvale South Rd (about 2kms west of the Cougar plant). From memory it read "Stop don't risk local air & water contamination by burning coal underground".

It sounds like the meeting will be a lively affair.
