Over the years we have noticed that rainfall records during cyclones can be a bit on the low side of actual. From the flooding and disruption we are seeing in our region at present this was a major event and easily equal to or surpassing the cyclone last year. Cyclone Trevor stalled for a period of time and it generated a huge amount of rain at Weipa and the greater region. The height of the water table impacts mining and in some areas you just have to wait for it to lower.
