Hmmm, didnt think my post the other day on Mvelaphanda Resources Ltd would cause so much anxiety. Certainly wasnt meant to - in fact i published it a point of comparison/valuation and activity in the PGM area rather than perhaps a threat to Xstrata JV with NKWE continuing.
Nevertheless, there has been some useful discussion on the topic i see. Not the least being i dont think the economics of that project would interest Xstrata as much as what appears to be the case for NKP - but time will tell.
I also agree with Brenden - this doesnt mean Xstrata is out, if they are interested in Mvelaphanda Resources Ltd - would simply be an easiar expansion play. They have the cash to invest - that is most clear.
I think however, as suggested in the article "We view the speculation as credible given ENRC has previously been linked to a bid for Northam Platinum, with any acquisition once again highlighting both the convergence of the FeCr (ferrochrome) and platinum industries," Liberum Capital said in note." that they are looking for the best price possible a throwing in a few speculative red-herrings for price action.
Hell, let's throw in a few of our own - Xstrata V AngloPlat - Angloplat would be begging to get their hands BACK onto NKWE.
Kiril - no disrespect - but if you think this thread is overly biased, then clearly you dont read much. If you would like some comedic value or a pure boredom break, have a read of the CTP thread - it would have to be the WORST thread for information and research i've ever come across (notwithstanding the fact i own some CTP - it aint from information obtained on that thread).
Anyway, back to PGM, i like the action building up in the PGM markets.
PGM ETF funds, Japan taking strategic interest in other platinum producers (PLA), Green action in the motor vehicle industry with Fuel Cells, economic rebounds in the across most industrials, conversion of mining equipment to catalytic will require even more platinum, middle class growing in the BRIC economies meaning a greater proportion of demand shifting to platinum and rhodium for jewellery rather than traditional gold...........the list goes on
Exciting times coming..........very soon me thinks.
ps Here in Adelaide, Grand Private Equities had a Spec Buy on NKWE today at 55.5cents, suggesting news soon may mean NKWE would be at multiples to the current price. Nothing new to holders here - but certainly nice when those with access to pools of equity in the SMSF and Investments of the Sophisitcate Investors or High Net Worth Individuals keeps pumping the stock
NKP Price at posting:
