I think and most people of reason, would understand very clearly the context of Duttons remarks..
Whilst he ( Dutton ) is commenting on the one hand about the broader security environment, he is also signalling to Australian voters that they should 'fear' China and not make any attempt to 'co operate' with China
What Dutton is trying to achieve is to ratchet the 'fear' higher than the obvious scrutiny that must fall at the feet of the LNP over their failings regarding the relationship with China
What the Australian people need to do is focus on the failings and vote accordingly rather than, once again, falling for this hawkish populist garbage being generated by Dutton and Morrison and profligated by their army of experts
Dutton wants to be PM and he wants to test his theory about 'strength' and 'peace' using the Australian people and the ADF as his pawns
