"Is the market due for a fall?"
Valuations are certainly getting stretched for the stocks that are usually held by the fund managers,SMSF's, M&d's etc. As you know, huge amounts of money have entered the market as a result of very low bank interest rates. Many global indicators are looking dire. The traditional indicators of a topping market are increased volatility and dropping volumes. Unfortunately in these days of algo trading it is often difficult to spot the obvious. I suspect that the smart money may already have departed or are in the process of doing so. The market may not collapse over night so one would hope that frequently updating stop losses would be prudent. It's interesting that most of the commentators that predicted the GFC are now again issuing warnings.
The best advice I can offer is to read widely and diversely. Good luck.
