Nice post rjaadave, you are right in saying that the invention of the continuous hydrothermal autoclave designed by Exergen with the support of Thiess and Sedgman is a "disruptive technology".
The removal of the need of evaporative dryers as in the competing technologies means that requires far less energy is required for the conversion process, in the order of 20% vs 2%. The output product is also better in terms of water reduction.
As Exergen is a privately owned company the only way so far to invest in such technology is through Mantle Mining.
