Victorians are the biggest CO2 emitters per capital in the world.....+90% of the state's electricity comes from brown coal and as such there is no way in the world Victoria can materially reduce its reliance on brown coal over the next 2 decades. As such even the "greens" (that have a refrigerator, air conditioner, washing machines etc) have to concede a 40% reduction is a reasonable compromise.
Moreover, although the Greens seem to have attracted a lot of the protest vote you'd have to suspect these swing voters will start realise the political and economic reality of the current government's inability to "move forward".
End of the day the BM is just one of the 3 big ticket coal prospects. If BM does get up then MNM becomes a mid-tier resource company overnight.
