No I don't think the potential debt facility would be for the DRC government. Firstly there is no way Anvil would pay it, particulaly $150mil. The govt has given no indication how they came up with that figure. Plucked it out of thin air I think. If down the track Anvil has to pay anything, it won't be that, and it will be over a number of years.
From the tone of the conservation,(which was just a brief mention) and considering how Anvil quickly develops exploration into low cost mines, I reckon it would have to be for expansion plans, or a strategic acquisition.
We have also forgotten about the Philippines gold project. They have been drilling there since about mid last year. No mention at all by Bill this morning.
SBS Zara project could very well end up becoming a staged development mine in the short-term. So I would think if Anvil takes on some debt, it would have to be for a very sound project, with a good IRR.
