Stuff up is stuff up. I doubt that they still have support of all three hospitals to do another round of trial considering they have blamed everyone involved in first trial.
It is management role to ensure that product will be tested according to pre-requisite specified in the trst plan. Double blind only applies for result verification and has nothing to do with you having someone supervising from your end, overseeing the over all testing process time to time. Red flags should have been raised while they were checking buckets were getting full or not? Management released announcement earlier in the year that buckets weren't full for pneumonia etc. How did they know buckets are not full if they had no visibility of test cases.
To me looks to be cover up job but I could be wrong .. to many flaws and gaps in statement which raises valid doubts and questions.
