In point of fact, I would say that it is very likely that experienced medical workers in the 3rd world have better clinical skills than their counterparts in the 1st world, because they have to depend on them in the absence of other technical tools. You get good at what you practice every day. I notice that fewer doctors have confidence in basic clinical skills that can deliver good results because they simply don't practice them as much and prefer to use technology instead which is often unnecessary.
