That's not true at all. HotCopper can have massive influence on small caps. Looked what happened to Yowie a year or two back. Someone started a rumour on HC that we lost Walmart - the share price tanked and went into a trading halt until the company released an announcement stating it was completely false and the Walmart account was healthy. There are plenty of people who visit HotCopper who supply information to their friends and family (who invest but dont visit HC) about things they found on here.
