    Not sure about that Granthamana.

    Stats from the RBA show we are spending more on interest payments as a percentage of household disposable income today than in 1989 when rates were 17%

    The cause - our huge household debt levels. We have quadruped debt as a percentage of household disposable income over the past 20 or so years.
