I suspect, and this is not derogatory, just a fact, that you need an IQ over 125 to be able to comprehend and get into Smyths psyche.
He's not just an old driller, or an accountant, etc, he's a lawyer, and as cunning as a SH rat when it comes to getting the best out of these deals.

He's announcing in his language, and a lot of it is unfortunately going straight over the heads of a large portion of the market.I actually see this as Smyths problem, not the markets - he has to come back a notch to the markets level.

IQ of 125 plus is the top 10% of the intellectual population....he needs to cater for a larger range imo...
