Jeanne Lenzer is an independent medical investigative journalist, long time contributor to The BMJ and former Knight Science Journalism fellow. She trained as a physician associate at Duke University and is a former senior clinical policy analyst with the Institute for Family Health, New York. Her book, The Danger Within Us: America’s Untested, Unregulated Medical Device Industry and One Man’s Battle to Survive It, received praise from notables such as Bernard Lown, Harvard cardiologist emeritus and recipient of the Nobel Prize; Marcia Angell, former editor-in-chief of the New England Journal of Medicine; and Pulitzer Prize winning author, Deborah Blum. Lenzer is a contributor and associate editor at The BMJ. Her articles have appeared in The New York Times, Smithsonian, Washington Post, The Atlantic, Mother Jones, Washington Monthly, The Scientist, The (London) Independent, USA Today, Newsweek Japan, and many other outlets.
