I dont think it's MB trying to get one over Aus Post at all. MB has been working on the "last mile" delivery options for some time and obviously thinks it will be a money spinner. As the Aus Post deal went pear shaped ADAM seems to be a better solution being carrier agnostic.
Time will tell.
