good points but the other resource miners in that area seem to manage with personnel using the fly-in fly-out model. Coober Pedy could become the next energy capital of Australia :)
The big player in the area that immediately springs to mind is
BHP - Olympic Dam.
BHP could be a potential JV partner also to develop Arckaringa.
Olympic Dam would be able to utilise nearby sources of diesel and gas and may provision for part of the costs of a pipeline if they can get fuel and energy cheaper than truck supplied fuel from Adelaide and grid feed electricity.
Olympic Dam mine life is many many decades ahead of it and BHP are also into energy and shale.
BHP would be a very nice JV partner there for many reasons including their shale expertise.
