you ask why rates are higher here than elsewhere? Mate, just look at our degree of borrowing! can u imagine the inflationary pressures we would have with rates at half the level they are at now? Australians, like the UK, USA etc love debt--> unfortunately this will cause us a lot of problems down the road-- if only the masses could see it coming.
