"Every other country" is closely connected with one of the three blocs, USA, Europe or Asia.
Australia is in the lucky situation that she can chose which bloc to follow for which sector.
Hence our markets react differently to most world events.
The only other countries which are independent like Australia are Sweden and Norway. Have a look at their share market. Completely independent. I hope that one day Australia's share market will lose all its "strings" and start behaving like those two countries.
