It's not confusing at all. Their domestic presence cannot be compared to Chanel/Prada/Gucci etc. You can ask aussie women this; Oroton is more often compared to Mimco as being low top end locally.
The majority of the stock that is on discount at DFO is made in China and ORL can afford to take a massive margin hit on these discounted products.
Internationally they are indeed considered top end, and command much higher margins in Singapore, Malaysia (and now HK and Shanghai as well).
I'm about to check out their new GAP store in Syd in the next few days before I put in an order (at the right price). Hopefully earnings start picking up with new Brooks Brothers stores opening n everything.
