Why would he government wait on this one? You fail to recognize the current threats to Australia's economic prosperity. Fortunately for us all, the Govt does. With oil having just hit US$60/barrel and remaining high still, the US CA deficit will continue to blow out as 30% of that deficit comes from oil/gas imports. The US WILL slow (question is whether it will be a hard or soft landing! - I see a hard landing coming). In which case China will slow tremendously and in turn so too will Australia! What sectors will continue to give our economy any significant growth potential? There is only one in the new unfolding environment - energy and nuclear is going to HAVE to be a big part of that. Quite simply put, industry producing goods fired on gas or coal generated electricity will be far behind those industries that use nuclear power to fuel manufacturing processes. It is simple economics! I am afraid that political correctness is a luxury only afforded by 'cheap oil'.
