The amazing AVM news from the last week is the new Congolese government enquiry.
It has the power to investigate among other things the 'fairness' of one of AVM's leases in Congo, this surely throws doubt over any new investment in the country. The legal system, especially land titles has little to do with fairness, its about ownership and contract agreements. The introduction of this word into the parameters of the taskforce is very scary.
It has been my suspiscion for a while is that the Chinese government will try and take existing projects in Africa by buying out corrupt government officials of which Africa is full. I cant help but be nervous about this amazing turn of events.
