"Moody's Investors Service placed the airline on review for a downgrade Monday, just as its first flights took off from Sydney International Airport and the carrier started to clear its backlog of 70,000 passengers stranded over the weekend. Standard & Poor's followed, downgrading the outlook on the airline's coveted investment grade debt rating to negative from stable. As of June 30 Qantas had net-debt including off balance-sheet liabilities of 6.97 billion Australian dollars (US$7.46 billion)."
