Anyone believing this is a union dispute is living in fantasy land.
Joyce was brought in to dismantle QANTAS. All shareholders thinking otherwise should get their heads out of the sand.
This tactic only brings forward the inevitable of a carve up of QANTAS in which he now has someone to blame whilst attempting to salvage some market credibility with sympathy (by blaming it on the unions).
The man that Joyce was chosen over is successfully plying his trade in similar market conditions down the road at Virgin.
The QANTAS board either stuffed up in their choice of CEO or they had planned this all along.
