Maybe the bashers should take the time to read the "Notice of Meeting" announcements for the WHEN HOW AND WHY people are paid what they are paid. Try the 2011 and 2012 announcements if you have a couple of hrs spare.
We mightn't like it, but you just might learn how they work this stuff out.
