The Victorian Electoral Commssion has just declared thwe liberals have won the seat of Bentleigh after continued counting there in the late afternoon today to decide the outcome of this election.
Three Cheers for Ted Baillieu and his team. They withstood the Labor smear campaign - and didn't just come close, as was expected - they've won the ruddy thing. AND without giving Greens preferences.
The Victorian Governor is jetting off to Sri Lanka this week on hols, so Brumby (who has never been an elected Permier!) better hurry up and concede, or the Gov will be very unhappy.
With an overall swing of 6/7%, and in some seats swings against Labor of 10%, or up to 20%, Gillard must be biting her fingernails now. And notice she has not been seen all day today!
