I am less emotional about it. There is no evidence that WPL has anything other than a good relationship with the government of Senegal. FAR and Cairn seem to be working well with WPL in the joint venture.
Its all good.
There is a possibility that WPL could farm into Gambia with FAR . They bid on ROP . They have a stated desire to develop Senegal into a hub of operations. They are drilling in **on now and will likely drill with FAR on the northern slopes of the dome in Rufisque later in the year. It would make sense for FAR and WPL to work together in The Gambia. If WPL becomes operator at SNE then tie back from Gambia would reduce project capital costs dramatically. It will need operator agreement to do tiebacks.
It would not surprise me if WPL carry FAR's project debt through until production starts at SNE as part of the farm-in to Gambia deal.
WPL just completed a capital raise and are cashed up.
