Hello all, From the UK the general view seems to be that, the parks committee members may be persuaded to reverse their decision if certain actions are taken to preserve the scenic view around the mine site at Cononish. As you already are aware, local govt and parliament are said to be all in favour, of this project. Indeed, even the communities in the vicinity of Loch Lomond and Tyndrum are all for it.
Applications, for experienced mine workers from the local and surrounding communities are already arriving at SGZ..Such is the interest. 'The ecstacy of gold',speaks volumes.
Money talks..and I am sure this project WILL succeed. Scotgold have plenty on their side, spending millions on re-development of the old mine workings and subsequent dual-listing. All this was originally given the OK by the respective governing bodies and planning applications were all agreed. Point in law? Either way, even if SGZ appeal, the parks decision, success is much more favourable now than 3 months ago.
Nobody thought at the time that a bunch of 'nameless' local committee members, who's sole aim was to keep this part of the Scottish nature reserve, pristine. It is highly probable
that the 3 votes needed to give us the licence will succeed. If NOT, then, also probable that Scotgold would..SUE. There is too much at stake here, for this not to go ahead, albeit SGZ still have other projects, which are showing remarkable results in their assays.
However...for just a few of the Tyndrum Park's Committee, for now at least....'MONEY DOESN'T TALK'....(yet)
