CGT i agree. Private health cover is a joke, what do you expect when its controlled and regulated by government.

Private health cover is just a proxy for socialised government cover via a private company.

The insurance provider should have every right to charge a higher premium to an old, smoker or overweight individual.

Then lower premium's to a healthy, young, or non smoking individual. If they were allowed to do this more young people would jump on board who will probably not claim for many years there fore reducing premiums for everyone.

Not only that...If there was an incentive for people to stay in a healthier shape IE not smoke, be in healthy weight range. i guarantee society would be healthier in general.

It's ok to smoke and get fat today because everyone else will pay my bills!

But politicians don't think like this.....
