ok lets start with some basics
savings usually go into investments
taxes reduce savings
the government thinks it can use our savings better than we can
If we put our money into an investment and it goes belly up we lose our savings
If the government taxes us not only do they steal our savings but if the money is spent on a project that doesn't work the taxes are blown.
By blowing our money on an illconcieved project such as pinkbatts and perhaps the NBN the government is blowing our savings.

by no doing a cost benefit analysis, the government is basically investing blind.
It is like somebody who invests in stocks buying shares without doing any research.
Is it any wonder that government planning is an inefficient way of using resources when the government won't even do the appropriate amount of research.
