    Of course they can charge the competition what it likes. It's competition are charging 19c per phone call and making tidy profits. If they don't understand the economics of operating and managing a network and Telstra needs to be justifiably rewarded of maintaining the network - and, if its competition can rake in net profits by charging the consumer 19c per phone call on its copper wires. Then who is being greedy here, exactly?

    It's not the copper network, my friend.

    If t wasn't Telstra that operated it, it would be someone else and the end result will be the same.

    Even when TLS is split, the results will be the same, as a company you want to be rewarded operating and maintaining the infrastructure.

    There is more to it, and it's called Foxtel, Kerry Stokes and Seven network.
