We have got to keep taking the fight to the politicians - threat of vote alignment is the only thing they will listen to. Well done to those that have made their voice heard.

From today's Australian (Investor Plight Cited In TLS Fightback) - "...The opposition continued its assault on the government's plan to split Telstra yesterday, using the plight of mum-and-dad shareholders as its main weapon against the proposed bill."

"... Australian Shareholders Association chief executive Stuart Wilson said the ASA had been inundated with new membership applications from concerned Telstra shareholders over the past week as debate over the bill intensified.

Mr Wilson said ASA members had sent more than 1000 letters to members of parliament detailing concerns about the effect of the bill on Telstra shares.

"It's struck a raw nerve with shareholders. They are up in arms and are willing to be active in expressing their displeasure," Mr Wilson said."

Also, see AFR today - "Conroy prepares to put TLS plan B into place" (p11) - "...the vote would force Conroy to resort to plan B in which he would rely on his powers to ban TLS from buying valuable wireless spectrum..."
