Brings back memories Tui the Marden Point Refinery you mention.
One of my best mates did his apprenticeship at Marsden Pont straight out of school many years ago as a commercial welder/and fitter & turner.
He then took his skills and worked around the world working at many plants.
They would bring him back for shutdowns at Marsden Point continually as he knew it so well to supervise until its closure.
So NZ no refining and here in Aust next to none now, a complete reliance on Asian supply for both Countries..
As you say how much storage is really available?
Hey but don't you know we have all these ripa Lecy cars and trucks right now......Suuuuuure....and the Chinese are about to dump about another 12 brands of lecy cars on us, gettum charging folks.Soooo much East Coast electricity to spare, sooo reliable..........so cheap, so cheap.......
