Its not like anyone here should be surprised by the findings but I'm sensing that many have taken it a little personally. Someone even decided to shoot down the entire field of psychology. As the article says, it can also apply to leftwingers affected by simplifying ideologies.
Its not rocket science. Lower-IQ people are easily manipulated by simplistic rationales. It just so happens that prejudice and conservative ideology is based around simplistic rationales so lower-IQ people are more likely to be influenced by it.
