Gold presently is US$1749 oz, up $13 today but down 2.8% from $1800.
One thing for sure, gold will not go down much further while World governments have so much debt, and we will make a heap at current low prices.
Regarding the spin-out
Put yourself in Doc's shoes. He has the Koting assays on his desk (webinar) and quite possibly the reserve report. He can spend as much time as he likes doing final checks before releasing them. He may well regret saying "hope to announce in the next few days the start of a formal process for partnering and financing for goulamina" or it might have been a deliberate ploy to pressure data room participants. Whatever is going on in the data room, he would end it & hand over to the investment bank if he saw no short term outcome.
If his comment "it’s possible we might get something commercial we’d want to complete before a demerger" comes true then he'll release that when he can, and the market will be happy. If it drags on, as it has already, he has that Koting result up his sleeve to pacify the market in the interim.
He'll either get a result out of the data room, or it'll go to the Investment bank & they'll get the result. Further down the track, those that didn't take the opportunity to top up or who sold will kick themselves, a bit like the tax dispute, it's really not an issue and will have no impact on the share price in 3 months time.
