    Supergold,

"finally accepted that i am not disciplined enough to be investing/gambling in mining stocks!"

Well you are not alone! About 80% to 90% of those who invest in the share market end up making a loss. I know a couple who bought a penny stock for $1000, it rose to $100,000 in value and yet they held on all the way back to the original $1000!

Pushing the sell button is the hardest thing to do when owning shares. Maintaining 80% of your capital and being disciplined enough to sell a falling stock when that 80% barrier is reached is also very hard to do.

But there are mitigating circumstances with ABU that sucked us all in! Those idiotic Board of Directors kept pumping out and ramping totally unfounded announcements about how good ABU was going to be! Even stating that the AISC would be AUS$700 an ounce so that the profits would be huge! Grades as high as 15g/t! All total fantasy and Tanami Bull Dust!

So as shareholders we were mesmerized by the visions of wealth, riches, fancy cars and boats coming our way! There were a few who tried to tell us that we were delusional and that ABU's long term charting trend was always is a downwards spiral, but they were often derided for daring to post some negative comments about ABU. In reality they were posting very rational, cautionary posts that we should have taken note of!

The blatant ramping of the BOD convinced us that ABU was going to become a wealthy company, but we didn't realise the true depth of the incompetence of the ABU Board!

So, there were plenty of mitigating circumstance as to why we didn't see the signs that ABU was a dud stock, and plenty of excuses as to why we didn't sell out of ABU when its value reached 80% of our investment.

We can lament our losses and make excuses, but in reality it comes back to virtually what you posted:
"In hindsight we have to accept that we were not disciplined enough, not astute enough and not cautious enough to be investing in a PATHETIC spec stock like ABU!"

Good luck to all ABU holders past and present. I do hope that we all can find ways to get our capital back again!
