Yesterday's announcement by LRS for Noombenberry Kaolin & Hallyosite project provides a good contrast of the different types of Kaolin deposits and the resulting end use application determined by the characteristics of each deposit.

I have made up a table from each of their assay result announcements, and listed their best (i.e. least impurities) and their worst drill holes result and the main things that is evident to me and a characteristic that is maybe not well understood by the market is the consistency of the grade of the deposit at Tampu when compared with the Noombenberry deposit.

Critical to determining the quality of a kaolin deposit is the level of impurities present, the greater the level of deleterious materials present the harder it is to process, the most difficult being Fe203, and a cut-off of 0.5% Fe2O3 for use in HPA and high-value tech applications,

The difference in grades for Tampu ranged from 0.08% to 0.64% with the average grade in the deposit being 0.26% (ASX:CR9 Announcement 7th Oct, 2021). By comparison, LRS ranged from 0.29% to 11.6%.

This augurs well when it comes to processing the ore body and for delivery of a consistent, high quality product.
