In all your incoherent ramblings not once have you actually made a constructive comment as to why you believe this could be turned around. Just a whole lot of analogies to try and convince the masses (or maybe yourself?). Not once have you shown you actually understand the science (in fact quite the opposite).
2.5 years for a trial to recruit 13 or so patients with poor results. Maybe the price is low not because of emotion or capitulation but because of critical thinking and rational decision making. Take the blinkers off.
