One potential positive outcome of consolidation is the fact that many institutional investors, particulary in the USA, are not able (due to their own mandates) to buy 'penny' stocks. For instance, they may not be allowed to buy into a company that has a share price lower than $1. Seems silly I know but it is true, and I think it is partially due to the fact that the term penny stock subtely means something different in the US - it really confers a message of high risk, whereas in Aus (for example) low price is seen more as irrelevant unless mkt cap is taken into account. So, with a higher unit price - DRA may get added to ETFs, institutional portfolios, etc. SBM recently announced a consolidation and touted this factor as important (DRA might have too, I can't remember exactly).
    Good luck to all, Ben
