ive said it before that i think AGO and UMC may be stronger from a brand perspective
although i too see the positives in a UMC and BRM tie up.
as pointed out the merged entitey would have a lot of cash and blending the two inventories could make for a pretty substantial tonnage of good grade product. probably better than anything FMG can pump out.
They should easily be able to combine for a ~500Mt+ 59-60% grade products without too much difficultky.
My guess however is that BRM would ask for a veeeery large slice of the pie cause they are bringing the cash despite the fact UMC would add the cream BRM definately neeed. i think UMC should definately control the resultant company and as a shareholder I'd be disappointed with less....
