    Hi All

Been away in Bali for a week and ready to get stuck into it again.

    Westcott

By your own admission you say that it costs 1 cent/km per tonne to rail the ore in the Pilbara and 14-16 cents/km per tonne to road freight the ore. This is not a fair comparison and totally misleading.

Firstly the Indian truck drivers will not be getting paid $150 000/annum. They are more likely to get under $10 000/ annum and that would be for a 12 to 14 hour day.

Secondly the indian train drivers will not be getting paid probably the same as above for the same hours as above.

Thirdly the amount of red tape etc would be negligible compared to Australia therefore less cost.

Fourth the cost of deisel would be no where near the cost that it is in Australia.

Also it is not the company sending the freight that is responsible for the back load. That would be the trucking companys and train companys problem.
