I would ordinairily think price manipulation of WPL would be far fetched - but I recall an event - I havent check the actual numbers but think it was either june 2000 or 2001 when wpl was ramped from 14.00 to $17 + over the course of the week. A subsequent inquiry found certain fund managers were 'window dressing', ie ramping the price of stocks they were overwieght to make the funds performance look good.
Just shows it can and does happen.
