OK - consider a large cashed up punter or insto with a fair holding and they need an exit strategy from GDN where timing is everything. How about feed the market a potential meeting with the BLM. In the mean time buy up the lows to make it look as though there is a feed out there. Build up the buy line and suddenly the DT's and all the old GDN punters get a sniff - "there's gold in them there hills!!" Let the price ride to 2 cents and then start feeding the seagulls but always keeping the buy side strong. The DT's get the idea, they too follow keeping the buy side strong for their exit strategy. Sound like a classic pump for an exit?
GDN is barren - no assets and potentially no irons in the fire if the BLM is neg on them - no cash very shortly, possibly no GDN very soon. Word is of a new potential entry into the market from same same players but they need backing. Your previous bankroller has a heap of GDN shares that need cleaning at a profit so they will take on your new entry. Getting the picture - estimate trades over the last 10 days - I'd say they could be half out and got their cash back - the rest will be profit. New entity with backing is now a possibility.
Please note, this is just a theory and a potential read of the play but with everything NOT going on for GDN, could it really be a play???
