In the spirit of the name of the thread, full credit to your research Clark888 and I do agree with your overall thesis about the development cupboard being a bit bare for more copper supply.

Really need Cu prices above US$3 per lb for a sustained period to motivate funding for supply, while there is a little bit of exploration happening there is just not much motivation or activity to increase supply. What the market needs is a good old supply shock period with zero warehouse stocks to focus everyones attention - something like an earthquake and/or drought in South America combined with something left field from the Mongolian government, and something blowing up in the DRC all at the same time would do the trick!
