the rules recently changed on price sensitive information- no longer does it have to be reported immediately. This is to give directors & geos time to review and prepare appropriate announcements.

I think it was changed partly because of that false takeover bid that was reported for David jones last year which was announced in a hurry rather than being properly considered by the board.

Same rules apply across the ASX.
