Container Lab Bound for the Middle East


In July two forty-foot shipping containers will be riding on the high seas bound for the Persian Gulf port city of Bandar Abbas. From there they will make the long and arduous overland journey to the north western tip of Iran.

Within days of arrival these containers can be easily transformed into a fully functional and self-contained field exploration sample preparation laboratory.

Essa has re-engineered its range of containerised laboratories to make them even better suited to operate in remote locations. Containerised laboratory modules have limitless potential for expansion and can meet all project laboratory requirements from simple sample preparation to analysis units.

Georgian-based OJSC “Mining-Geological Project” has commissioned Essa to supply a semi-automated mobile sample preparation laboratory to an exploration project near Tabriz in Iran.

This fully self-contained lab houses a drying oven and 4-stage linear-automated sample preparation system. It incorporates a compressed air supply, climate control and a ducted dust extraction and collection system.

The complete unit has been engineered from one 40ft shipping container. Once built the unit will be re-surveyed to ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.

Transporting and handling the laboratory is as simple and inexpensive as standard shipping container haulage. There is no need for special handling or shipping procedures. Once on site the laboratory can be fully operational within days.
