Continental gives Mashala execs plum roles

Continental Coal Ltd has given six senior executives from a recently acquired company plum positions with the miner.

With the acquisition of Mashala Resources expected to settle within days, Continental said Mashala's chief executive, Johan Heystek, had been appointed chief operations officer at Continental.

Continental is a South African-focused coal producer. Mashala is a thermal coal miner based in that state.

Mashala's chief financial officer, Rachel Hebron, will take on a similar role at Continental, while Ken Hodge will become project manager.

Continental chairman, Andy Macaulay, said the new executive team brought with them an exceptionally strong mix of skills.
