I had 5k on it and was painful to me losing over 50% of it, I don't like losing anything especially if not enough information was provided in a timely manner to enable reassessment of risk, or worse still if information was withheld for convenience (Not saying it was or wasn't, but seems quite a few think this to be the case).
To Benny his 1k may be all he could safely afford to lose and be worth as much to him as someones 100k. Maybe Benny would have been happy to gain a sweet 1 bag (an extra grand) or maybe even $500 would have helped him and his family on their next holiday or to buy that new laptop he's been wanting.
It's really not your business to JUDGE him on how much HE chooses to invest.
Maybe it's not Benny that is the fool, after all he only lost 1k on such a high risk investment. How much did you lose?
BTW, I don't know Benny or his circumstances and I doubt you do either. I now know something about you though.
