Centro Completes Phase Two of Redevelopment
NORWOOD, OH-Centro Properties Group has completed the second of a three-phase redevelopment project here at Surrey Square. The plan is to take a partially-enclosed, 176,433-square-foot shopping center and turn it into a multi-anchored community center. As part of the second phase an 80,000 square foot Kroger opened this week.
“Centro is thrilled with the progress and success thus far at Surrey Square,” says Martin Liles, VP of redevelopment for Centro. “We are very pleased with the redevelopment and are excited to bring a fresh new look with a variety of tenants in a neighborhood setting to Norwood, Ohio.”
Phase One of the project saw the addition of 21,000 square feet on in-line retail space and McDonald’s relocation to this area. The second phase revolved around the Kroger construction. The final phase will redevelop the old Kroger location for alternative retailers. This part of the project is slated to begin in July.
Other retailers at Surrey Square include Bethesda Healthcare, Chipotle, H&R Block, Hollywood Video, Subway and Radio Shack. Cincinnati-based The Oswald Co works as the general contractor on the project while Cole Russell Architects and Thomas Graham Associates are project consultants.
