The issue here is not whether Uber is a good business or not. Regardless, they are taking over share of the market (just check year to year revenue declines in CAB). Even IF they were to fold, there is a line up of companies (eg. Lyft, GoCatch) to take their place.

The appointment of Ms McCann comes with a history of being with TEN and the ABC. Both of which are a dying breed and doesn't bode well for CAB having her here as a last resort.
