I am learning myself that it does not work that way. Brokerages own your shares unless you certificate them. So, if you set too high a limit price, brokerages know they can borrow and replenish. Some websites say that this can work if you set a limit price which is reasonably achievable. Then the brokerage has to think before they borrow. But then if the price suddenly spikes, you lose out.
